WVUD
“WVUD is not everything to everyone, but we feel that it is SOMETHING to everyone.

Audio-motive
My sister, Casey, loves to share with me her system testing playlists when she’s touring with bands. This is the part where I’d like to brag but alas, I shall refrain from such touting. The perfect crossroads between her industry and, well, the one I take great amusement in writing about, is the music used to test the audio systems in cars.
Why It Costs More For Cheap Fun
If we take a deep-dive into the mathematics of it all, the inexpensive sport compact segment sees an average price increase of 30% between the base models and sport models. The luxury sport compact market, a comparable segment that shares the same tuning philosophy as the former, has an average price increase of only 24% between regular and sport models.
Cheap Fun Shouldn’t Cost (So Much) Extra
During this past episode of The Engine Block, Colin and I got talking about how we want inexpensive fun-to-drive cars to come back. We might not have been around during their peak in the nineties, but we love to think about a time where souped-up economy cars and cheap thrills reigned supreme.
Live In Concert: Joywave
As someone who’s been a strong supporter of Joywave and their music since 2021 (make sure to read Cleansing with Joywave as a reference!), this felt like a dream come true and I couldn’t have been more thrilled and ecstatic to take part in such a fun opportunity!
Live In Concert: Valley
On Saturday, September 28, Candian indie pop group Valley kicked off their Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden Tour at Union Transfer in the heart of Philly!
Will The 2025 Toyota 4Runner Live Up To The Hype?
It is no secret that we celebrate Toyotathon in my house. If it really were a holiday, the entire house would be strung with little Toyota logo lights. We would gift neighbors zero-percent APR financing on new Highlanders and send letters to Jan from Toyota.
WVUD Sports’ NCAT Trip
A pick-six with 3:40 to go in the 2nd quarter. A one-possession game at the half. Everything looked to be going wrong for Delaware as the half ended at Truist Stadium down in Greensboro, North Carolina. And the WVUD Sports team was along for the ride.
WVUD’s Official ‘Welcome Fall’ Playlist
As temperatures and colorful leaves begin to drop across campus, we here at WVUD are dedicated to providing you with adequate tunes. Below, you’ll find the 2024-25 Ops Board’s ultimate picks for the best songs to usher in autumn!
Drinking: A Young Man’s Game
It was the last night of the annual WVUD Operations Board retreat. This year was interesting, in that the females lead males six to one as far as department heads go. Being outnumbered by the opposite sex has never been an issue for me, however, at chow time, I found myself wanting to sit with the group where conversation tends to cultivate contemplation.
Live In Concert: Greta Van Fleet Pt. II – “Somewhat Live”
Since Firefly Music Festival no longer exists, many Delawareans–and those adjacent–are trying to fill an outdoor, multi stage festival-sized hole in their hearts. Not wanting to travel as far north as Massachusetts leaves out Boston Calling, and now that Oceans Calling in Ocean City, Maryland, is sold out, the question has to be asked: who you gonna call?
Greta Van Fleet Photo Gallery
Greta Van Fleet’s performance at Musikfest on August 1st was only the second concert I’ve ever photographed. Needless to say, it’s a big jump from the tiny, intimate, indoor stage at XL Live in Harrisburg, but no less amazing of an experience.
Song Showdown: “Woman’s World” vs. “Joyride”
Summer of 2024 has been a good one for pop music. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” is topping the charts, Chappell Roan is taking the world by storm, and the eternally iconic Charli XCX is leading the charge for a messy, recklessly fun “brat summer.” I of course have been enjoying all of these incredible songs and artists, as if I am two things and two things only, I am a pop music lover and a girls’ girl.
