THE WVUD SPORTS DEPARTMENT
Konner Metz, junior Media Communications Major
Konner enters his third season with WVUD Sports and his first as the Sports Director in 2022-2023. In addition to serving as one of the main voices for Delaware men’s and women’s basketball, Konner is the sports editor at The Review. He is a diehard, and often disappointed, Dallas Cowboys and 76ers fan.
Daniel Steenkamer, sophomore Communications Major
Daniel enters his first full season with WVUD Sports in 2022-23. Finishing his fourth season covering Delaware & CAA Football for HEROSports.com’s FCS arm in 2022, he especially enjoys calling Blue Hens football play-by-play. Daniel is the sports department’s social media manager.
Luciano Ciaranca, senior Communications Major
2022-2023 is Luc’s first full year with WVUD, where he is a weekly member of “The Cage” radio show. He is also a reporter for The Review. Luc is an avid Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers fan, and in his free time, loves attending sporting events, specifically Eagles games.
Ryan Lazev, junior Communications Major
Ryan is excited to join the WVUD team for his start in the sports media world. He enjoys covering football and basketball as a color commentator, and is a reoccurring member on the Blue Hens Sports Cage. Ryan is a fan of his local New York-New Jersey teams in the Giants, Yankees, Knicks, and Devils. Along with WVUD, Ryan runs for the club Track & Field team.
Sanaa Mason, freshman Media Communications Major
Sanaa is in her first year with WVUD and is excited to continue covering basketball and football. Her favorite teams to watch are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Golden State Warriors. She is looking forward to everything Delaware basketball in the coming year.
Stephen Maister, sophomore Communications (PR) Major
Stephen is in his first year with WVUD and is very involved in coverage of Delaware basketball. He also served as the play-by-play voice for Delaware football’s FCS Playoff victory in the fall of 2022.
