WVUD is the premier destination for coverage of Delaware athletics. WVUD produces live broadcasts of Delaware football, men’s and women’s basketball, ice hockey, baseball and select field hockey, men’s soccer and men’s lacrosse games. Every game is broadcast live on either 91.3 WVUD FM or WVUD HD-2 The Basement (see our full broadcast schedule here). WVUD broadcasts are produced entirely by University of Delaware students.
But that’s not all. WVUD Sports is proud to announce that its flagship sports talk radio show, Blue Hen Sports Cage, will be returning to the FM station this fall for the third consecutive year. Every Thursday from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Jake Lampert, Nick Dellaglio and Gideon Berman host discussions on the latest in University of Delaware, collegiate and professional sports. The show features guests from the university community as well as other contributors from the WVUD Sports team. An abbreviated version of the show is released in podcast form every Thursday evening.
We are constantly adding to our offerings as we aim to continue to expand and improve our coverage of Delaware athletics. Check back here throughout the semester to see what we’re cooking up and follow us on Twitter (@wvudsports) and Facebook (@wvudsports) for up-to-the-minute updates. We hope you’ll join us during our live broadcasts throughout the fall and on Thursdays in #TheCage. Subscribe to our podcast feed and get three shows for the price of none (it’s entirely free!). Download the episodes in your podcast player and you can take WVUD Sports with you, wherever you go. Here’s all of the pertinent information in a nut shell.

If you are interested in joining the WVUD sports department, please reach out to sports director Jake Lampert at email@example.com. We are always looking to add members to our team. WVUD Sports members get the opportunity to produce live game broadcasts from the studio, call games live as the play-by-play announcer or color commentator and contribute to weekly radio shows, podcasts and video series. WVUD Sports alumni have gone on to work in the field at companies like ESPN and NBC Sports and radio stations like WTOP, WDSD and WDEL. It’s an excellent opportunity to get experience in the field, meet great people and get close to the action if you are a diehard sports fan.
In your email please state your name and year, and describe what spurred your interest in joining WVUD Sports and what you hope to accomplish as a member. No prior experience is necessary. We will train you on all of the equipment we use and coach you through your first broadcasts. All that is required is a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a passion for sports.
