WVUD Technical Information

The WVUD Transmitter is a Broadcast Electronics FM-1C transmitter. It operates on 91.3 Mhz, feeding a four bay Shively circularly polarized antenna 135 feet above average terrain (220 feet above ground level) on the University of Delaware's Christiana East Tower (Coordinates - 39 degrees 41 min. 26 sec. North Latitude, 75 degrees 45 min. 23 sec. West Longitude). The Effective Radiated power is 1000 Watts.

 

WVUD's studios 1, 2 and 4 have a Klotz Digital AEON 12 consoles. Production Studio 1 also has a Mackie board and a Protools workstation with a Digidesign worksurface. Production Studio 3 is a live performance space.

 

Audio sources include Marantz PMD 340 CD players, Stanton ST-150 turntables, Otari MX-5050B reel to reel tape recorders, Media Touch Op Log audio software for prerecorded announcements and promos, Sennheiser MD421 and Electrovoice RE-27 Microphones, Sony MDS-E12 Minidisk recorders, Sony CDR-W33 CD recorders, Telos 1X6 Telephone Interfaces, and Tascam 112 cassette machines.
