2011 has been a historic year for WVUD. Since Radiothon 2011, we have successfully increased our power to 6,800 watts with a new transmitter, tower, and antenna, all while dodging earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, and untimely fall snow storms. Just as historically, we began broadcasting 91.3 FM and sister station ‘The Basement’ on HD Radio. In the case of ‘The Basement’, it is the first time that it has been broadcast over the air, finally breaking through its past internet-only limitations.
These improvements were made possible with the help of listeners like you. Now that this major initiative is complete, the question is ‘what’s next?’ WVUD has more projects and goals for 2012 and beyond. These include finding new ways to interact with our audience on and off the air, and continuing to find ways to maximize our impact on the community.
Radiothon 2012 (March 16-25) will enable us to replenish the funds that were utilized for the power increase, allowing us to maintain smooth day to day operations. It will also help to support some of our exciting future initiatives. As always, we can’t do it without YOU! Please consider sending in your early pledge now. This will give us a good jump start towards reaching our goal of $40,000 and will allow us more on-air time for attracting new supporters.
If you would like to claim a premium (our way of saying thank you) for your contribution, please indicate this on the attached pledge form. You do NOT need to call in to pledge if you turn in this form. Thank you again for your continued support of WVUD.
